S A S organized to educate voters about the stakes for San Diego's environment in the March 2020 election with a grass-roots field campaign aimed at passing the "Safeguard Our San Diego Countryside" Initiative and defeating the massive "Newland Sierra" project north of Escondido.

Ballot Measures

Two measures on the March ballot will determine the landscape of rural San Diego.

Measure A would require a vote of the people for any change to the County General Plan, ending backroom deals that sell out rural, agricultural and backcountry areas. Measure B would change the County General Plan to allow the 2135 unit

in a high fire area.
